They may seem to be the same, but advertising and marketing are different. Advertising is only a part of the bigger game called marketing. Marketing refers to everything from brand ideas and development, advertising and then the eventual product sale. Conveyance of the message to the consumer or potential buyer is the role of advertising.
Advertsing is a principal part of any marketing plan and the most costly. The ground work to find an
appropriate group to target is also part of the advertising. Work at home marketers are always faced with the task of deciding the best advertising medium for their products, type of ads and how
often they need to post. Most online advertisers use pay per click ads, SEO, paid and free online classified ads, email, articles and blogs to promote their products.
Generally speaking, most home workers do not develop their own products, so often product branding is usually the province of the manufacturer, wholesaler or product developer. The work of finding a cost effective means to reach the right target for an affiliate product can be difficult and time consuming and it doesn't matter whether the business is located on a kitchen table or in an upscale high-rise office building.
A big part of product design may fall within the marketing sphere, but the final step before a sale, the presentation of the message regarding the product, is the one of the most important.
